Biography
Lindsay West is a south-London based singer and songwriter who has played and written with the Nextmen and Matthew and the Atlas and is part of the alt-folk band Love.Stop.Repeat. Her influences come from the bare-all romanticism of Joni Mitchell, the story telling of Tracy Chapman and the inventiveness of Kate Bush. She would like to sit somewhere amidst the likes of Feist, Regina Spektor, Laura Veirs and Cat Power.
Lindsay has produced a self-released album (Cramond Island) and two EPs on Make Your Own Adventure Records (Fall and We Came in from the Sea) is about to release a third EP with MYOA. This features Lindsay West Band, who bring a dynamic and sometimes darker sound to the music. Cerys Matthews played Lindsay’s song ‘The Rain’ on her BBC 6 Music show in August 2013 and ‘Newcastle’ was featured several times on Tom Robinson’s own Slashmusic radio show.
